Sen. Ademola Adeleke rejects Osun rerun result, vows to retrieve his mandate

The People’s Democratic Party’s gubernatorial candidate in the Osun state rerun election, Ademola Adeleke, has refused bluntly, the result announced by INEC early this morning in which the APC candidate, Gboyega Oyetola, was declared winner of the rerun.

Speaking to reporters after the results were announced by the electoral body, Adeleke said there was no election in Osun state, only coup. He vowed to challenge the results at the state tribunal and retrieve the mandate given to him by the people.

Speaking through his brother, Dele Adeleke, Ademola said

“It will be foolish to allow this 419 result to stand. The party will meet and I believe that the tribunal is the next step to take. Adeleke’s mandate can’t be stolen, it will be retrieved. The wish of the people will stand at the end.”
